GitaarBarbaar cares deeply about your privacy. Therefore, we only process data we need for (improving) our services and handle the information we collect about you and your use of our services with care. We never share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by GitaarBarbaar. The effective date of these terms is January 21, 2026; the publication of a new version renders all previous versions invalid.

2. What data do we collect?

When you place an order or contact us, we collect the following data:

• Name and address details: For the delivery of your guitar or accessories.
• Email address: To send the order confirmation and track & trace.
• Phone number: For any contact regarding delivery or via WhatsApp service.
• Payment details: These are processed securely via our payment provider (we do not see your bank details ourselves).
• IP address: Automatically collected by Shopify for fraud prevention and statistics.

3. What do we use your data for?

• Order processing: When you place an order, we need your information to process it and keep you informed of its status.
• Shipping: We share your name and address with PostNL to get the package to you.
• Contact & Service: If you send us a message via WhatsApp or email, we will use your data to answer your question.
• Legal obligation: For our administration and the Tax Authorities, we are obliged to keep invoices with your data for 7 years.

4. Sharing with third parties

We never sell your data to third parties for marketing purposes. We do collaborate with parties necessary to provide our services:

• Shopify: Our online store runs on Shopify. Your data is stored on Shopify's secure servers.
• Payment providers: For processing iDEAL and other payments (e.g. Mollie or Shopify Payments).
• Carriers: PostNL receives your address details for delivery.
• Accountant: For our administrative obligations.

5. WhatsApp Contact

When you contact us via WhatsApp, WhatsApp's privacy policy applies to your messages. We only use your phone number to answer your question or to inform you about your order/repair, not for unsolicited advertising.

6. Security

Our website uses a secure SSL connection (the lock icon in the address bar). This encrypts the connection between your computer and our servers. Shopify also has strict security measures in place to protect your data.

7. Your rights

Under applicable Dutch and European law, you, as a data subject, have certain rights regarding the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. You have the right to:

• To access your data.
• To have data changed or deleted (right to be forgotten).
• To object to processing.
