A message just arrived via Marktplaats and that was actually surprising. I agree with the criticism of an earlier review, but I still visited the website. Looked good so time to contact me and get a quote for my guitar. I couldn't agree more with that, so the deal was completed quickly. Just received a shipping box and the guitar was sent. In the meantime I had very pleasant contact with this young and driven entrepreneur. I immediately bought an acoustic guitar from him.Especially for the higher segment guitars, I will visit his shop again when I buy my next guitar. Everything checked, warranty, delivered to the door and excellent after-sales.
These guys scour Marktplaats and try to buy your guitar for 40% of the asking price and then sell it on for a profit. These kinds of businesses ruin Marktplaats, don't support it.
Last year I accidentally came across the guitar barbarian site and that sparked my interest.Since I had collected quite a few guitars and peripherals over time and actually played very little of them. Maybe I was more of a collector than a virtuoso, so to speak. Knowing that I would be moving abroad in the foreseeable future, I still wanted to get rid of my collection. So we contacted Danny (the initiator of Gitaar Barbaar) and we soon came to a nice deal regarding the peripheral equipment I offered. I would rather sell my collection to someone who is also passionate about it and can still make another buyer happy with it. And who knows, that person might be the talent of the future, who started learning to play the first notes on my (sold) guitar and will sooner or later find himself on the big stages or arena (that's how all Jimmy's and Eric's started of course). Let's get back to our Danny, a nice guy who is doing well and reliable. A year has now passed and I still had 3 bass guitars (in 3 different scale lengths) and the day of departure is getting pretty close and unfortunately I can't take them with me (I can take one guitar with me that I traded in last year when I sold it, a handy Yamaha nylon silent guitar). So I contacted Danny again and he was interested in this too. So with some short breaks (quite busy with work on my part) and pleasant communication we were able to complete it nicely. I had some larger boxes in which I could properly package the bass guitars (but I can't see any tape for the time being hahaha) and thanks to the shipping labels sent by Danny, the boxes were delivered to the PostNL point ready for shipping, on their way to a musical enthusiast. Once again with Danny you can do good business, both purchasing and selling. Pleasant in communication, honest and again reliable, a nice (alternative) initiative for guitar enthusiasts. Danny, keep up the good work! And for those who have now bought a guitar from Danny that was previously in my own possession... have fun playing!Among a selection of the guitars I sold to Danny.

Bought one of the last, if not the last, GB single cut! Received an extra discount of €100! Unboxed it turned out to be a beauty. Looks are important, but the sound is much more important. Beautiful high/low presence via various amps. I further improved the action height by sharply filing the nut. The bridge, trusrod and pickups are adjusted for perfect intonation. The impedance was properly adjusted. Long story short: how do you manage to deliver a barbaric topper for €340? Good job Danny!
I contacted Danny about possibly trading in my guitar for one from his collection. Even though I got rid of the guitar in a different way, I received tremendous help from Danny, he offered good information to questions I had, and also a really fair price, especially if you remember that you can quickly close a deal without any hassle and annoying buyers.I will definitely keep Danny in sight in the future, highly recommended!
Troy van Leeuwen Jazzmaster, Wow!This week I bought the Fender Troy van Leeuwen Jazzmaster in Oxblood Red at Gitaarbarbaar. What a beauty and what a nice guitar to play!Of course, as a guitar geek of the highest order, my heart beat faster when I saw the Troy van Leeuwen Jazzmaster. I had been looking around for a Jazzmaster to add to my guitar arsenal for a while and knew about the existence of the TvL JM, but it wasn't until I saw the beautiful photos on the Gitaarbarbaar website that the 'hook' with this guitar was completely there. Of course I looked online for other copies, but the Gitaarbarbaar posts photos of the real copy and that helps!We texted back and forth with Danny and it turned out that - in addition to earning his living with the Gitaarbarbaar - he is an enthusiast and knows what goes on in the mind of another guitar enthusiast when it comes to trading in (read: saying goodbye) to other guitars. We had a nice chat and came to a good deal quite quickly. Somewhere in the middle between what an average guitar shop would give as a trade-in for a nice guitar and what you can get for it on Marktplaats (after often a lot of hassle and whining).Now that I have the TvL JM at home (see the unboxing photos) it also appears that the Gitaarbarbaar also works on adjustment and service. Well put together and easy to play straight away.As indicated on the website, it is in mint condition and for a very nice price.In short, very satisfied with my first deal with the Gitaarbarbaar. The only pity about an online only shop is that you can't smell the guitars 😉

An amazing experience, bearing in mind that is was an online experience, not able to play the guitar myself before buying. Next to that Danny has attention to detail and quality , didn't for instance expect the Epiphone Les Paul Custom 2021 to be shipped in a wooden box for shipping. The guitar and Orange Micro Terror head & PPC108 cab are in mint condition, thanks for that.For the rest clear communication via email and app, fast handling. The place to go!!!
